April 2026 Platform Patch Notes

This platform patch focused on cross-site login reliability, Cloudflare routing, challenge sync, and cleaning up the rough edges that make a connected game network feel fragmented.

This patch was less about one flashy feature and more about making the whole Word Tycoon network feel tighter and more reliable. A lot of the work in this round went into the connective tissue between games: login carryover, public routing, edge delivery, challenge sync, and the smaller failures that make a connected platform feel rougher than it should.

What changed

Shared login behavior is now more consistent across Word Tycoon, Word5000, Searchle, recTangled, erecTangled, and the related game sites. Several public game pages and support surfaces were moved into the hybrid Cloudflare setup, which reduces direct origin exposure and makes the public-facing side of the network cleaner to manage.

We also fixed a set of broken route and handoff issues, restored the missing completion-status endpoint used for Searchle challenge syncing, tightened a number of public admin and control surfaces, and cleaned up parts of the blog and CMS so the publishing side of the project is finally usable instead of sitting in half-demo state.

Why it matters

None of this is the kind of work that looks dramatic on one screenshot, but it matters because it changes how the whole platform feels. When sessions carry over, routes resolve correctly, challenge state syncs, and the public surfaces are stable, the games feel like parts of one system instead of a collection of fragile edges.

There is still more cleanup to do, but this patch gets the Word Tycoon ecosystem into a much healthier place to build from.
